FIR Interview: Jeffrey Eggen on the Ford Focus Rally America
Jeffrey Eggen speaks with FIR co-host Shel Holtz about Ford Motor Company’s new multi-channel promotion to introduce the 2012 Ford Focus, the Focus Rally America. Unveiled at BlogWorld and New Media Expo, the promotion—which follows on the heels of the successful Ford Fiesta social media campaign—marries all four types of available media—paid, owned, earned, and social.

Jeffrey Eggen Jeff Eggen is the Experiential Marketing Manager for Ford, responsible for generating engaging, breakthrough programs which build awareness, consideration, and advocacy for Ford vehicles. Examples include nationwide test drive tours / experiences, event activations and sponsorships, and experiential programs with key influencers. Jeff has been in this position since 2008. Successful consumer experiential initiatives that Jeff led include: The Fiesta Movement, Ford Taurus NFL Gameday Houseparties, ControlTV, the Fiesta Garage at Bonnaroo, and Ford’s integration into American Idol, White Collar, and Vampire Diaries.
Jeff has held a wide variety of marketing and sales positions for Ford in the US and overseas. He has been Marketing Manager for Ford Focus, Ford F-150, Ford Contour, Ford Escort, Mercury Sable, Mercury Mountaineer, and Mercury Mariner. He has held product development positions in Ford, Lincoln, and Jaguar. Finally, from 2004-2008, Jeff led the sales and marketing for Ford in 19 Asia Pacific markets including Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Before joining Ford, Jeff worked as a journalist, TV news anchor, and marketing communications manager in Kuwait and Venezuela. He holds a BBA from Furman University (Greenville, SC) and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Jeff lives outside Detroit with his wife and four children.

Josh Bernoff is the coauthor of the BusinessWeek bestseller Groundswell, the “best book ever written on marketing and media” (Advertising Age), and is senior vice president, idea development, at Forrester Research. Ted Schadler is a vice president and principal analyst in Forrester’s IT Research Group. His work over 13 years at Forrester has focused on disruptive technologies and how senior decision-makers should harness them.
