  1. Gents,

Audio quality was significantly better on this show (FIR 32).  The large volume difference between the two of you that was in a couple of recent shows is not there.  Now, the reality is that I’m now hooked enough to listening to your show that it would have to be extremely bad quality for me to even consider stopping, but I do appreciate your work to get it back in line with your earlier shows.  Strange that it changed, but hey, that is the wackiness of all this technology with which we surround ourselves (having been working with computers for 20+ years myself).

Juat getting caught up a bit, so I’ll offer a couple of quick comments:

    1. Shel, in FIR 30, you spoke about companies blocking access to blogs and asked if others had heard of it.  A good part of what I do now is with IT security (particularly as it relates to our Voice-over-IP products) and I have honestly not yet heard of anyone doing this.  It seems rather silly to me but I could see the companies that don’t trust their employees wanting to clamp down on blogs (as they do for sports websites, movie info, etc.).  In the end it’s a rather poor move as those employees will miss out on all the info now coming out, in some cases, only in blogs.

    2. In FIR 31, I believe it was related to a comment from Lee Hopkins that you were talking about tools to help create RSS feeds.  One that I have found particularly useful is a tool called ListGarden (available for free at http://www.softwaregarden.com/products/listgarden/ ). It can either be used as a standalone tool to generate an RSS feed which can then be put up on a website (which is how I use it) or it can be used as a CGI script for real-time operation.

Anyway, thanks for your continued excellent shows. They are a delight to listen to and every show inevitably brings me something new.  Thanks for all you do.
