So, until Monday May 24…
I only made it halfway through episode #547 on my run this morning, but so far it seems like Neville is pretty frustrated by Facebook’s complicated privacy settings.
I can certainly understand the confusion, especially when publications like the NY Times publish graphics like this one [link] that seem to be tasked with making it look as difficult as possible.
Personally, I like to take it in three simple steps:
1. Organize all of my friends into lists (e.g. Personal, Professional, Family)
2. Go through each setting and choose what each list sees (or doesn’t).
3. Test my settings using Facebook’s Profile Preview tool, which lets me see exactly what others do.As for sites like Openbook, there is a privacy option to make your default privacy setting for things you post and share to be visible only to your friends (along with other options).
I put together a simple video guide that demonstrates and explains each of Facebook’s privacy settings. You can take a look at it here:

Great show, guys. Keep it up!
