  1. G’day again Shel & Neville

I see I’m going to have to add a Sallie-esq pronunciation guide. My surname is pronounced “slave”-“en” as opposed to “slav”-“en”.  Not that many people get it right first time around :)

A couple of things.  Firstly, about the image not showing up in iTunes.  It seems that iTunes caches the feeds that you subscribe to, so hopefully it should clear that and update itself soon.  Deleting the feed and re-subscribing doesn’t seem to remove the cache. I’m seeing the image just fine in iTunes, but then, I’ve never used iTunes for listening to podcasts.

Also, about the fake blog on Harriet Miers. We’ve had a few of them over here in Australia.  There is an ongoing blog about the Prime Minister John Howard and also for the previous leader of the opposition Mark Latham, which now seems to be abandoned.  (NSFW Language warning on these links)

There was also a fake blog in the US pretending to be Allah (yes, as in the God of Islam) and basically was a blog mocking Islamic extremists (or possibly Islam in general, some could argue).  That blog is also now abandoned, but you can see it using the wayback machine

The common element here seems to be that these are all set up to mock the person (or ‘being’) that they are pretending to be.  Naturally, people don’t tend to steal the identity of people they like (well, as long as they’re not totally obsessed anyway).

  2. Just a quick comment to say I love “sprawlopolis” as a description of Los Angeles and to wish Shel and his wife a great time in Hawaii. (Oh, and to say thanks to Dan and Lee for the warm greetings and comments.) I’m sorry I won’t be seeing you at the Podcasting Conference in Ontario, but since we’re practically neighbors, I’m sure we can meet up at another time. (Why is a non-podcaster going to this conference? Well, because I write for WomensRadio.com, and they’re about to add podcasting capabilities to Audio Acrobat.)

PS Blogger does allow you to turn on “captcha”; I now use it for my FileSlinger(TM) Backup Blog.

  3. :cheese: I just found out that you guys played my Hurricane Relief promo on your show.  I searched for my name on Podscope.com

Thanks and keep up the great podcasting!
