Rightly or wrongly, nearly everyone in China thinks the U.S. blocked Lenovo for strictly economic reasons. Interestingly, many of these people view that as perfectly normal and the exact same sort of thing China itself would do. The problem is that U.S. trade policy is supposed to be to get every country away from such things.
