Live panel discussion on the value of PR for startups set for November 7

In the wake of several high-profile posts suggesting startup CEOs can do their own PR just as effectively as a professional, we’ve put together a panel to discuss just what value startups get from working with agencies. The panel includes (in addition to hosts Shel Holtz and Neville Hobson):

There may be additional panelists added as the segment approaches.

The panel discussion will be hosted on FIR’s BlogTalk Radio channel on Friday, November 7 at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern, and 6 p.m. in London. As with all BlogTalk Radio shows, you’ll have the oportunity to call in and add your own perspectives or ask questions of the panelists. Just call (347) 324-3723 during the show. FIR Interview: Dave Armon with Jim Fong on PR Newswire Study

PR Newswire recently released he results of a study conducted by Diagnostics Plus that determined the wire service’s press releases are used by journalists as a source for an article more than its competitors. The release of the results through social media channels ignited considerable discussion, which is addressed in this interview with PR Newswire President Dave Armon and Diagnostics Plus President Jim Fong.

Prior to joining Diagnostics Plus and Penn State, Jim served as president of a New England-based market research firm, director of research for a marketing and advertising firm, and director of analysis for a top twenty international research firm.  He earned a B.S. in mathematics, M.S. in statistics, and an M.B.A. from the University of Vermont.  He resides in State College, Pennsylvania with his wife, three children and two dogs.
