Podcast Awards nominations are open

The second annual Podcast Awards is up and accepting nominations, and your FIR co-hosts would be delighted if you’d nominate us in the “Business” category.

These awards are presented at the Portable Media and Podcast Expo in Ontario, California on September 29 and 30. Both Neville and I will be speaking at the event.

So why are we pimping for your votes with this particular awards program? The Podcast Awards do use the same technique as some of the others we have dismissed—the ability to nominate and vote multiple times. The difference (at least, in my view) is that the people behind the Podcast Awards are upfront and candid about it. In fact, the program is subtitled, “The People’s Choice,” and works not unlike the popular People’s Choice entertainment awards in the US. Also, the rules are very clear and well-thought-out. And as podcast awards go, this one so far holds the crown for most prestigious.

So it just wouldn’t kill us to win, which would draw more attention to the show and bring us more listeners.

And that’s why we’d be truly grateful if you’d follow the link and nominate us. Nominations are open until July 15. (Follow the rules: You may submit nominations only once per day.)
