Google has pulled the plug on authorship, its once highly touted initiative to tie author identities to search results. While Adobe uses CMO.com to build thought leadership, it maintains a strict church-state separation between ownership and the editorial product. Adobe doesn’t even have access to the 30,000-name newsletter mailing list. The key to CMO.com’s success is a tight focus on the reader, Moran says.
