Ha! Interesting indeed (too bad you cut it out :-). Well, as a shameless plug for my redesigned business card (based on the issue you bring forward) i posted an entry about this in weconverse late June. I might add here that “key word search” is increasingly used for navigation in our personal computers (core issue in OSX and Vista), i.e. instead of browsing to the correct folder one just search for the document.Posted by Richard Gatarski on 08/18 at 12:05 PMShel was fascinated by people searching for things like “YouTube” and “Facebook” rather than just “going there,” so I have to share this story.
A friend told me a story about his boss’s Web browsing and searching habits, which are certainly odd. The guy apparently believes this is the best workflow for doing an effective Web search:
-open browser
-wait for home page, Yahoo.com, to load
-conduct a Yahoo search for “google”
-click the first search result
-wait for Google.com to load
-conduct a search for whatever it is he’s looking forWhy? Who knows? He won’t have it at all when anyone tries to talk some sense into him. He must really like Google but not understand a simple bookmark. :)
Posted by Mike Keliher on 08/20 at 11:06 AMI was surprised to see the “best buy” keywords is searched over 1.5Mn/month searches only in US. cnn also over 2Mn, why people not simply type cnn.com, rather going to google.
It really indicates how important is branding and the name chosen for the business.
